I forgot to mention in the last post something important. Bob Smiland, Chief Of Sales and Marketing told me that Monrovia Nursery will not operate with pay at scan. Home Depot and the rest will have to pay upfront, or with some type of dating. I think it’s important, as many small retailers find the whole pay at scan process distasteful.

Trey, What states are Monrovia shipping plants to Home Depot? Is this just for the West coast? Also, I am surprised that the terms were not nailed down before the letter was sent Thursday. Not important to me but a detail nonetheless that the parties involved should have determined. I hope we do not find out that it was pay by scan. That is a game changer for the independents.
You mention pay at scan….. quoting Smiland “Home Depot and the rest will have to pay upfront or with some type of dating”. WHO ARE “THE REST”? COSCO maybe? or who knows….the Dollar Stores? I just hope I don’t go in and see the retail price cheaper than I can buy it at my best discount. I guess spring will tell…….I just hope they know what they are doing.
